Decided to get rid of old gym equipment, but couldn't figure out how, so customer called us for help. We came prepared with the tools needed to disassemble it so we could easily lug it up the stairs and out to the truck. It took a bit of time and elbow grease, but we got it done!
This was a quick turnaround project. We got an urgent call from our appointment center with a client who needed help same day. Luckily he lives close to our office and our crew was willing to tack on another job even though it was late in the day. Not much to donate here, but we did recycle some of it and the customer got his needs met!
We have amassed quite an array of crutches and other medical equipment in our warehouse. Happy to deliver them to our neighbors in Addison.
The Addison Fire District H.E.L.P. program collects, cleans and repairs used medical equipment for short-term loan to those in need. Re-using the equipment creates savings not only for the individuals, but also for the environment.
This is a cost-effective program. The Addison Fire District does not purchase new equipment. We rely on people no longer needing their equipment to donate it. Then our volunteers or staff help repair and sanitize the equipment. The equipment is loaned and once a patient no longer needs, the individual returns it.
